The unnamed driver was taking the car on to the set of new Bond movie ‘Quantum of Solace’ when he lost control of the vehicle. It seems the lusty power of the Aston Martin DBS, a rain-soaked night and an over-zealous stunt driver conspired to result in James Bond's car taking a swim in the picturesque northern lake.
The car was a little more than a quantum of sogginess, when it was finally winched on to dry land. On the other hand, the stuntman, who was quickly rescued by firemen, managed to escape a similarly water-soaked fate. Although he suffered only minor bruising, his career as a stuntman/driver is looking decidedly less healthy.
It’s one thing to lose a car when you're rehearsing or performing a stunt in front of the camera and crew; it’s another when you're merely trying to deliver the car to the set! To add insult to injury is the fact that it was the only car available for shooting of the film, which has so far seen the crew move from England to Panama, Chile and Mexico.
